1. Introduction

Precisions Inc. (“Precisions”, “we” or “us”) provides appliance repair services to customers in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you entrust to us.


This privacy policy (the “Policy”) explains what personal information we collect through our websites www.precisions.ca and www.precisions.ca/en-ca, how we use and disclose it, how long we retain it, and what your rights are with respect to it.


This Policy is governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) of Canada and by the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector of Quebec (the “Personal Information Protection Act”, also known as Bill 25).


2. Person responsible for the protection of personal information

In accordance with Quebec law, Precisions has appointed a person responsible for the protection of personal information (the “Protector”). You can contact our Protector with any questions, requests, or complaints regarding this Policy or your personal information:

3. Personal information we collect


3.1 Information you provide through our application form

When you submit a repair request or warranty claim on our website, we collect the following information, which you provide voluntarily:


  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Civic address, city, region and postal code
  • Appliance type, brand, model number and serial number
  • Date and place of purchase
  • A description of the problem encountered with your appliance
  • A copy of your proof of purchase (uploaded document)


All fields in the form are required to process your request.


3.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, certain technical information is automatically collected through the use of cookies and similar technologies, including:


  • The IP address (truncated when the analytics provider allows it)
  • The type of device, the operating system, and the type of browser
  • Pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring URL, and approximate location
  • Interactions with the site (clicks, form submissions, scrolling)
  • The source of your visit (for example, an advertising campaign or a referral link)


This information is collected using Google Analytics and the Meta pixel (Facebook), as described in section 7.


4. Purposes for which we use your information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:


  • Respond to your repair request or warranty claim and schedule the service
  • Check your appliance purchase, warranty status, and your eligibility for service.
  • Contacting you regarding your service appointment, by phone, email, or text message
  • Dispatch a qualified technician to your address and complete the repair
  • Maintain records of work performed for warranty, accounting, and quality control purposes.
  • Analyze website traffic and improve our website, services, and marketing
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising and adapt our future marketing to relevant audiences
  • Respect our legal obligations and protect our rights


We do not sell your personal information.


5. Legal basis for the collection

We collect and use your personal information based on your consent, which you give by checking the box "I agree to the privacy policy" and submitting the application form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Data Protection Officer (see section 2), subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing your consent may prevent us from providing you with certain services.


For non-essential cookies and tracking technologies, we rely on the consent you give through our cookie banner when you first visit the site.


6. Communication to third parties

We only share your personal information with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:


6.1 Service Providers


  •  ProgressionLive (Integrated Solutions Distribution Inc.) — our customer relationship management (CRM) and field service management software, used to process service requests, dispatch technicians, and manage cases. ProgressionLive is a Quebec-based company headquartered in Trois-Rivières, and its operations are designed to comply with Quebec and Canadian privacy laws. ProgressionLive may use subcontractors located outside of Quebec or Canada.
  • Google LLC — provider of Google Analytics, used for website analysis. Google is headquartered in the United States, and the data collected may be stored or processed on servers located outside of Canada.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — provider of the Meta pixel, used for advertising measurement and audience targeting. Meta is headquartered in the United States, and the data collected may be stored or processed on servers located outside of Canada.
  • Hosting and IT providers — third parties that host our website infrastructure and provide technical support.


6.2 Transfers outside Quebec and Canada

Some of the service providers listed above are located outside Quebec or Canada, including in the United States. When personal information is transferred outside Quebec, it becomes subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed, which may differ from those of Quebec. Before transferring personal information outside Quebec, we conduct an assessment to determine whether the information will receive adequate protection, taking into account contractual safeguards, the sensitivity of the information, and the purpose of the transfer.


6.3 Legal and Corporate Communications

We may disclose personal information when required by law, court order, or government authority, or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim. In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the parties to the transaction, subject to the protections provided in this Policy.


7. Witnesses and tracking technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly, analyze traffic, and support our marketing activities. These technologies fall into the following categories:


  •  Strictly necessary cookies — required for the proper functioning of the site (for example, to save your entries in the form). They cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies — placed by Google Analytics to measure how visitors use our site.
  • Marketing cookies — placed by the Meta pixel and other advertising tools to measure ad performance and display relevant ads on third-party platforms.


When you first visit our site, a cookie banner will be displayed so you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time using the banner controls. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings, but disabling some cookies may affect the site's functionality.

8. How long we will keep your information

We retain your personal information for as long as you remain a Precisions customer and as long as we maintain an active service relationship with you. Thereafter, we retain your information for the period necessary to:


  • Honor warranties on parts and labor
  • Comply with our accounting, tax and other record-keeping obligations as required by Quebec and Canadian laws.
  • Responding to potential disputes, complaints or legal claims


Once these purposes have been fulfilled, we will destroy or anonymize your personal information in accordance with our retention schedule. You may also request the deletion of your personal information at any time, as described in section 10, subject to any legal exceptions that allow or require us to retain certain information.


9. Security Measures

We implement reasonable physical, technical, and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:


  • Access is restricted based on the need-to-know principle.
  • Password protection and authentication controls
  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and, where applicable, at rest
  • Confidentiality obligations for employees and service providers
  • Contractual protections with our service providers


No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we take steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.


10. Your rights

Under Quebec and Canadian privacy laws, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:


  •  Right of access — to obtain confirmation that we hold personal information about you and to receive a copy of it
  • Right of rectification — to have inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information corrected
  • Right to withdraw your consent — withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions
  • Right to de-indexing or cessation of dissemination — request that we cease disseminating your information or that we de-index a link, under the circumstances provided for by law
  • Right to data portability — to receive your personal information electronically in a structured and commonly used technological format, and to have it transmitted to another organization where technically feasible
  • Right to be informed about automated processing — Precisions does not currently use your personal information to make decisions about you based solely on automated processing. Should this change, we would inform you and respect your right to request a human review.


To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer using the contact information provided in section 2. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

11. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact our Data Protection Officer so that we can take appropriate action.


12. Confidentiality Incidents

If a confidentiality incident occurs that presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the individuals concerned, as required by law, and we will keep a register of incidents in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.


13. Amendments to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or the law. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of the page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice on our website. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
